Paula Majumdar is a Gender-based Violence Specialist on the Collective Action to Reduce GBV (CARE-GBV) project. Paula has extensive experience in project and proposal management in areas of social inclusion, capacity building, and gender-based violence. Prior to joining DPI, she worked as a Gender Specialist at WI-HER to integrate gender equity and social inclusion (GESI) on the Act to End Neglected Tropical Diseases project which works in 13 countries to control and eliminate NTDs. Paula also worked at Palladium on the Health Policy Plus (HP+) project, where she managed a sustainability and transition portfolio in El Salvador. At Palladium, she designed a Gender Equality and Social Inclusion tool and developed a process by which to integrate GESI into various project designs. Paula has experience working with a wide variety of donors including the Global Fund, USAID, and the Department of State, while working at organizations such as IREX, the Global Gender Program, the Global Women’s Institute, and Banyan Global. Recently, she completed the Researching Gender-based Violence: Methods and Meaning course at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has also volunteered as a Crisis Intervention Advocate at the D.C. Rape Crisis Center. Paula holds an M.A. in Gender and Development from George Washington University as well as a B.A. in Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia. She speaks fluent Spanish, English, and Bengali.
